CliniClue Xplore - Windows version information

CliniClue® has been installed and tested on the following versions of the Microsoft Windows® operating system.

  • Windows 2000
  • Windows XP
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows 7

In all cases, the installation and worked smoothly and the software ran as expected.

We also have anecdotal reports of successful use of CliniClue Xplore using Windows emulators on the Mac.

We do not provide any warranty that any of the above noted results will apply all instances of these or other environments. Local configuration and security issues may cause unexpected results with any software installation and CliniClue Xplore is no exception to this.

In particular, we note the following limitations and potential issues:

  1. If other software is running during installation this may lock particular systems files resulting warning messages and possibly incomplete installation.
  2. If the user undertaking the installation does not have rights to install software and/or does not run the setup 'as adminstrator' the installation may fail to run.
  3. We have not directly tested the installer on 64-bit versions of Vista or Windows 7. However, we have one anecdotal report of success installing in 64-bit Vista. Furthermore, our understanding of technical notes on the Microsoft website is that 64-bit environments will run CliniClue Xplore - though without the performance enhancement benefit offered by 64-bit processing.
  4. We are aware that the Online Update options may not function correctly due to firewalls and other security policies. However, it should still be possible to use this program to install ClueData files that have been manually downloaded from our web-site or other sources.

The installer for CliniClue® 2006 had some know issues under Vista and was not tested under Windows 7. See details of the work round for installing CliniClue 2006 with Windows Vista
