ClueData Installation for CLUE-5 using an SctData----.zip file

These instructions are intended for users of CLUE-5 who have received an ClueData zip archive file. To download the latest ClueData zip files click here.

These files have names like: SCTDATAEDITION_YYYYMMDD.ZIP
For example:

SctDataIntl_20080131.zip:International Release January 2008 as a zip archive file
SctDataUk_20071030.zip:UK Release January 2008 as a zip archive file
SctDataEs_20071030.zip:International Release with Spanish October 2007 as a zip archive file

1) Unzip the file

  • Unzip the zip file downloaded from (1) ClueData file into the folder "C:\Program Files\cic\CLUE Browser\ClueData"
    • Use a standard unzip package such as WinZip™ or [[http://www.7-zip.org/download.html|7zip]
    • Be sure to select options in your unzip utility that preserve the folder structure from the zip file.

Wait while the files are extracted

2) When extraction is complete

Check the files are in the correct place. If the unzip was done correctly this will create and populate a new sub-folder of the "ClueData" folder with a name that matches the name of the installation file. For example:

  • C:\Program Files\cic\CLUE Browser\ClueData\SctDataIntl_20080131
  • C:\Program Files\cic\CLUE Browser\ClueData\SctDataUk_20071030
  • C:\Program Files\cic\CLUE Browser\ClueData\SctDataEs_20071030
  • etc...

3) Run the browser and select the new Edition

Load the browser and check that the new Edition is shown in the Browser. The title of
the browser window indicates the Edition that is loaded.

  • If the required version is not displayed use the configuration utility to select the relevant Edition.
  • If the required Edition is not available for selection recheck the installation instructions above to confirm the data has been downloaded and installed or unzipped into the appropriate folder.
  • If you did not install into the default path you may use the Edition Selection or CLUE Configuration utility to add a new search path for the browser.
  • If you did not extract into a path ending in 'ClueData' you will need to move the extracted Edition folder into a folder with this name.
