ClueData Installation for CLUE-5 using an SctData----.exe file
These instructions are intended for users of CLUE-5 who have received an executable ClueData file.
These files have names like: SCTDATAEDITION_YYYYMMDD.EXE
For example:
| SctDataIntl_20080131.exe | : | International Release January 2008 as an autoextracting file |
| SctDataUk_20071030.exe | : | UK Release January 2008 as an autoextracting file |
| SctDataEs_20071030.exe | : | International Release with Spanish October 2007 as an autoextracting file |
- If the file you received has a '.zip' suffix click here.
- If you are using CliniClue click here.
- If you are using CliniClue and have received ClueData in a '.exe' you have a choice of following either set of instructions.
1) Run the autoextract program
Double clicking on the distribution file (e.g. SctDataIntl_20080131.exe).
2) Respond to the autoextract prompts
a) You will be prompted to extract the data from the archive
b) You will be asked to confirm the target folder for the extracted files.
- If possible accept the default folder for the data suggested when you run the program.
- If it is not possible to accept the default path for installation you may specify another folder.
- If you specify a folder ensure the final folder name in the path is "ClueData" otherwise the data will not be accessable using CLUE-5 or CliniClue.
3) Wait while the files are extracted
The extracted ClueData files are installed in a sub-subfolder of the specified "ClueData" folder.
- The subfolder names are based on the Edition and version in the same way as the installation files. For example:
- ClueData\SctDataIntl_20080131
- ClueData\SctDataUk_20071030
- ClueData\SctDataEs_20071030
- etc...
4) When extraction is complete
Close the unzip dialog.
5) Run the browser and select the new Edition
Load the browser and check that the new Edition is shown in the Browser. The title of
the browser window indicates the Edition that is loaded.
- If the required version is not displayed use the Edition Selection (CliniClue) or CLUE Configuration utility (CLUE-5) to select the relevant Edition.
- If the required Edition is not available for selection recheck the installation instructions above to confirm the data has been downloaded and installed or unzipped into the appropriate folder.
- If you did not install into the default path you may use the Edition Selection or CLUE Configuration utility to add a new search path for the browser.
- If you did not extract into a path ending in 'ClueData' you will need to move the extracted Edition folder into a folder with this name.
Due to a known issues with some layouts in CliniClue 2006, you may need to exit from the Browser and repeat the selection process before a version switch works correctly. This will be fixed in the new CliniClue 2008 release due for release second quarter of 2008.
